If you want something similar, check out A Is for Atom: A Midcentury Alphabet or the many other titles in the range such as J Is for Jazz: A Roaring Twenties Alphabet, M is for Monocle: A Victorian Alphabet, S is for School: A Classroom Alphabet, L Is for Love: A Heartfelt Alphabet and…well, you get the idea. Rock and roll, the space race, pop art, psychedelia and so on. The standout title for me are G Is for Go-Go: A Sixties Alphabet, a collection of 26 illustrations for toddlers using artwork inspired by the 1960s. In fact, so does some of the source material here too and if you like the idea of your child learning from something unashamedly retro (or you just want these books to complement your retro home), then you might want to pick some of these up. Yes, much of the illustration here takes its inspiration from the 1950s and 1960s. My new obsession is this range of vintage-style board books by Greg Paprocki for Gibbs Smith.Įach one is the work of Greg Paprocki, an illustrator and book designer from Nebraska in the USA and obviously a man who loves the mid-20th century. ![]()
